Prune Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs, or 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup cooked prunes
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 Teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon allspice
  • 1 Teaspoon cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Cup chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Add rest of the ingredients.Mix all together, bake in loaf pan for about one hour at 350 degrees.
